You could be forgiven for thinking, given the sheriff’s quotes and the tone of the release, that Loughman was a KKK member. But he wasn’t: According to Free Times’ research at the time, as well as a crowdfunding page that’s still up, Loughman was an anti-racist protester who identified himself as an anarchist.
